Rectory Garden Cottage, Littleham, North Devon
The Cottage is both pretty and unusual and stands in the grounds of an early Regency Rectory. It has its own very special garden. The Cottage and Rectory and the ancient Church of St. Swithun's stand alone together at the head of one of the secluded and wooded valleys of North Devon.
The Cottage is spacious (see layout), and stylishly furnished. The large south facing sitting room is full of light and has lovely views over the gardens of the O1d Rectory and the wooded countryside beyond. There is a well equipped and modern kitchen. One bedroom has a king sized bed and en suite shower room, and the other has a single bed and bathroom adjoining.
The Cottage which is available to rent for short stays of less than a week would suit two or three people, particularly those who are interested in gardens, or who merely wish to step back and enjoy the contrast from the world outside.
The RH Society's world famous garden at Rosemoor is seven miles away and there are the coastal walks and beaches of the Atlantic within three miles. Good walks may be enjoyed directly from the cottage, and there is a popular pub serving good food within walking distance. An all-weather tennis court is also available for your use.
We welcome visitors with well behaved dogs, but please note that there is no fencing to the Cottage, and that we have our own free-ranging dogs and poultry, and plenty of wild life. The Cottage is not suitable for children. There are various unfenced ponds and water gardens, and some precipitous ravines.
The peace and tranquility of the place soothes and impresses, and the natural beauty of the surroundings are a delight to the eye. We feel that you will leave feeling refreshed and invigorated.
